A complete home rebuild or new home construction is a complex process and having a team lead by Skilltech Builders to guide us through the intricacies of construction gave us full confidence that our project would be done right.

I have worked with Rod as the structural engineer on numerous homes both at Highpointe and elsewhere over a period of ten years and can attest to Rod’s commitment to building excellence.

As expected, Rodney did an outstanding job. His extensive knowledge of all aspects of the renovation ensured potential issues were identified early in the project and followed-up with solutions meeting our expectations. Rodney worked hard to keep our project on-time and on-budget, and it was a privilege to work with him.

We met Rodney when he was made project manager for the construction of our summer house on Okanagan Lake in 2005. With only three pages of basic architectural plans, Rodney guided us through the process, completing our beautiful home on budget in just seven months. We later completed some significant renovations to the house in 2012 and we again entrusted the job to Rodney, with no plans, budget or supervision. When complete, there was no sign of any construction. The quality of construction has continued to receive the highest compliments from our guests. We would highly recommend Rodney to anyone contemplating construction or renovation of their home.

I can offer an unreserved recommendation for Rod. The idea of "good enough" is not in his mindset. Our home comprises over 7,000 square feet on three levels. Its complex design includes complicated roof lines, a large amount of structural steel, exterior walls with multiple 90-degree corners, a large tiled deck over concrete base with an outdoor kitchen and living area, a natural stone/wood shingle/stucco exterior, many custom interior millwork features, a suspended staircase, and custom shelving and cabinetry. During the build, it was Rod's responsibility to ensure that our home would meet our high expectations with no defects. Rod did this in an exemplary fashion.

Rod led the construction of our new home in West Kelowna. He was passionate about the work and focused on the quality and small details. He was an invaluable asset in both the complex construction of our new home, and the renovation of our older home. We have no doubt Rod can lead other projects to success like he did ours.
